2018 AND 2017 EVENTS

Québec’s wee ones are not just the future of our society, they’re also its present

For the past three years, Early Childhood Week has brought many important projects, learning opportunities and achievements to the fore.

One of the event’s greatest accomplishments has been rallying together perinatal and early childhood stakeholders from across the province. Over time, other partners from non-traditional spheres have added their voices to the movement to make our youngest citizens a true priority for our society.

In 2017, 52 individuals and organizations from the political, media, union and business communities signed our “Letter from Grown-Ups to Our Little Ones.” That same year, close to 40% of Early Childhood Week activities were held in public libraries throughout Quebec as part of the Participating Libraries project.

In 2018, 56 people signed our opinion letter, entitled “Is Quebec Doing Enough for Young Children?”. In addition, the Grand Rally for Our Little Ones brought together close to 600 early childhood stakeholders, including decision-makers from the local, regional and provincial level. The rally was one of the highlights of the 2018 event, attracting some much-needed attention to the growing movement to be more responsive to the needs of children and babies 5 and under.

Early Childhood Week is an opportunity to raise awareness, promote dialogue and engage society about early childhood matters.
